Mike was previously the Foundation Bursar from 2012-2021. Prior to that he had spent two years with facilities management company Sodexo as COO of an incipient Defence Project. This followed a career in the Army, which included battalion command and Defence Attaché in Rome, and culminated as Chief of Staff of the Defence Academy in Shrivenham. His principal outside interest is music, singing with the Cathedral Singers at Christ Church, Oxford. He also maintains his military links as The Rifles’ County Colonel in Oxfordshire, and as a trustee of The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock. Mike read Latin with Archaeology at Exeter University and has an MA in International Liaison & Communication from Westminster University. He speaks Italian and French, is married with three sons and five grandchildren, and lives in nearby Charlbury.
