Raquel Mariani Fernandez

Data Scientist

Raquel is the Data Scientist at the Ditchley Foundation, where she connects technical infrastructure to the Foundation's international convening work. Working closely with the Chief Technology Officer, she leverages Salesforce and Neo4j graph databases to map global connections and develop AI-driven insights that support Ditchley's programming.

Her academic work applies technical methods to questions in comparative politics. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Political Science (Comparative Politics and Conflict Studies) at the LSE and holds a degree in PPE from the University of Manchester and a Diploma from SciencesPo Toulouse, with prior research on institution building in post-conflict settings, focusing on the Afghan and Iraqi cases. Her broader focus is on how data-driven insights can strengthen democratic institutions and inform responses to political fragmentation and conflict.

Originally from Spain, Raquel spends her free time at the opera, the ballet, or trying to learn Russian (without much success).
