Mansion House Tours

When not in use by the Foundation, tours of our historic home at Ditchley Park may be arranged.

Ditchley Park is one of the United Kingdom’s finest houses, having a rich history as an idyllic retreat for royalty and power since the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Winston Churchill famously used Ditchley as a secret base during the early years of World War II, meeting presidential envoy Harry Hopkins here in his attempts to win American support for the allied war effort.

Today, Ditchley Park is home to The Ditchley Foundation, which works with people from across the world to renew democratic societies, states and alliances to sustain peace, freedom and the rule of law. In this inspiring place, we continue our longstanding history of providing a unique retreat to enable spirited but respectful discussion across divisions of expertise, geography, generations and political opinion.

Led by our House Historian, private guided tours are a wonderful opportunity to learn about the historic architecture of the Palladian mansion and the procession of people of power and influence who have been hosted at Ditchley over the centuries.
