The Ditchley Internship Programme
Ditchley offers over 50 internships each year, with the majority joining for our prestigious Summer Internship Programme. Further term-time opportunities are offered via our select partner universities.
Ditchley's Internship Programme combines both the core summer internship programme and a series of term-time internships. With over 50 internships per year, our highly sought-after internship programme provides the opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds to experience the Ditchley model of leadership, engage in career development, learn new skills and participate in our network, as well as gaining exposure to new people and ideas.
Our internships are open to enthusiastic undergraduate- or graduate-level researchers and we offer a number of roles across a range of projects, all of which enable interns to become immersed in the ethos of Ditchley and to contribute to its goals, while also developing skills that will prove valuable across a range of future career paths.
Areas of priority typically include:
Developing the Ditchley technology platform
Using Ditchley’s innovative graph database to help shape how interns think about relationships between people and across communities.
Developing the Ditchley community
Participant analysis to deepen relationships and build the Ditchley network.
Communicating Ditchley’s rich legacy of ideas and heritage
Synthesising papers on past conferences to understand current political change and undertaking detailed original research on notable artefacts in the Mansion House for the Smartify platform.
An important aspect of the programme are sessions focusing on the skills needed to take on effective leadership roles. Students will become a part of the Ditchley family, taking their place in a vibrant alumni network, attending selected Ditchley events, and witnessing the important work that the Foundation undertakes. Mentorship opportunities are also available.
Applications for our Summer Internship Programme are welcomed from April each year and information will be listed under Current Opportunities. In addition to our open applications for the summer programme, we work closely with a range of UK and international universities and external partners, including the Crankstart Scholars Programme at the University of Oxford.
Please note that term-time placements are also available and these are coordinated through our partner universities (such as Nottingham, UCL and Warwick).
