Jessica Cecil

Jessica Cecil is a media leader, consultant and advisor to several startups, specialising in how emerging technologies are affecting news and the online information environment. She was for over two decades a senior leader at the BBC, and was Chief of Staff to four BBC Directors-General. While at the BBC she negotiated and led the Trusted News Initiative, the world’s only alliance of the biggest tech companies and news organisations, alerting each other fast to the most harmful forms of disinformation. She is a former Visiting Fellow at Oxford University’s Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, and currently is on the boards of the University of Bristol, the Digital Catapult and Chatham House. She is a member of the Rand Europe Impact and Innovation Board.
