Formerly: Chairman of Committee of Inquiry into the future of the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London 2020-21; Member of OSCE Eminent Persons Panel on West's Relations with Russia over Ukraine; Member of the Eminent Persons Panel on the future of the Commonwealth; Co-Chairman of Trident Commission in 2011.
