Dr Diana Walford, CBE, MD, BSc MSc FRCP, FRCPath, FFPH

Diana, a clinical haematologist, has held senior posts in the NHS, the civil service, a non-departmental public body and in higher education. Formerly, she was Principal of Mansfield College, Oxford (2002-11); Director of the Public Health Laboratory Service (1993-2002); Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England and Director of Healthcare on the NHS Management Executive (1989-1992). She was an honorary consultant haematologist to the Central Middlesex Hospital. In addition to her current non-executive role as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Regent’s university London, she is a non-executive director of the Office of the Independent Adjudicator. Previous non-executive director positions include: University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Deputy Chairman, Council of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; NHS Blood and Transplant Authority; Trustee, Sue Ryder; Member, State Honours Committee.

Diana is an Honorary Governor (2020-), The Ditchley Foundation.
