A new compact for transatlantic security: how to balance global stability and European security

This Ditchley Roundtable at the Warsaw Security Forum centered around transatlantic security as the United States shifts its foreign policy focus towards China and the Indo-Pacific, causing concern in Europe about its relevance to its American allies. The key task is to link the European theatre to the Indo-Pacific one, with the European pillar of NATO ideally being shored up simultaneously with increased US investment in the Indo-Pacific. Part of this challenge involves making Russia's invasion of Ukraine relevant to countries in Asia and Africa, regions that have been diplomatically neglected. Central European countries' increased engagement with South-Eastern Asian countries is a positive sign, as states in the latter region begin to see the implications of Russian actions.
