UK Higher Education and the coming decade of AI: what will a valuable education be for students and the country?
Building directly on the insights from January's Ditchley-Lumina Summit looking at Higher Education Redesign in the US, this discussion will analyse the question from a UK perspective. While the US summit looked at structural integration, this one will build on the UK’s existing 'bridge' between skills and higher education to identify a 'North Star' for transformation. As was observed in the previous event, the "burning platform" for change is no longer a theoretical risk—it is a reality fuelled by falling trust, demographic shifts, and the disruptive force of AI—and hard choices are best made while there is still "money in the bank and time to implement change". This discussion will move from reacting to immediate threats to intentionally designing a system for the long term.
